The story of Oliver Sonne is wild.

When turning 16, Oliver was not offered a contract at his club, HB Køge. He thought the dream of going pro was over, and he started to play for fun with friends in his hometown. He kept using Tonsser and was selected for our first ever showcase.

At this time we were trying to figure out the value of our data, and if Tonsser could actually identify promising underrated players and help them on a new path. Oliver became our first experiment to connect players with opportunities and with his parents we agreed to find him trials. First, Oliver attended a college tryout in Malmö, afterwards he trialed for a week at Marseille before FC København offered a trial which led to his first youth contract.

Oliver re-joined HB Køge on his first full time contract and after impressing he joined Silkeborg IF in 2021 and have since been a regular in Superligaen.

In 2023, Oliver was recognised for having Peruvian descent which opened the unlikely opportunity to represent Peru. In March 2024, Oliver made his official debut for Peru against Nicaragua.

He recently signed for adidas and his popularity in Peru has gone bonkers. Go check his instagram if you need proof.

Last night, Oliver wrote a new chapter to his inspirational and underdog story, by scoring the only goal in the Danish Cup Final, securing Silkeborg IF their first trophy in 23 years.

In 2021, Oliver and I visited Danish Morning TV, where Oliver said that he would not be a footballer today, had it not been for Tonsser. Happy that Tonsser have played a role in helping Oliver, and with his story showed the need for alternative paths, when the original plan does not work out.

In the end, all credit goes to Oliver for fighting and finding his own way.

(Big ups to the Tonsser team, and especially Poul Carmes and Oliver Dürr Dehnhardt for taking the original initiative and making it happen)
